This site sets no cookies. Here is what it does store.
Keep this page honest. Everything below was written by reading the site’s own source, so it is accurate as of today. If you enable analytics or embed anything third-party, section 4 must be updated in the same change — a cookie policy that describes a site you no longer run is worse than none.
Most cookie policies are long because the site is full of trackers. Ours is short.
01The short answer
This website sets no cookies. Not one — no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no social pixels. It keeps five small values in your own browser to remember trivial things like whether you dismissed a banner, and those never leave your device.
02What a cookie is, and what we use instead
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to store and then sends back to the server on every request — which is what makes it useful for tracking. We do not use them here. We use sessionStorage and localStorage, which stay in your browser and are never transmitted anywhere.
03What this site stores

All five are strictly functional: they exist to honour a choice you made. None identifies you, none is read by us, and none is shared. Because they are not cookies and not used for tracking, no consent banner is required for them — which is why you have not been shown one.
Our web host also keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, page, timestamp) to keep the site online and investigate abuse. That is described in the Privacy Policy.
04Analytics
We currently run no website analytics of any kind. We do not know how many people visit this site, and we have chosen to ship it that way rather than ask you for consent we do not need. The site carries a loader for analytics that is switched off — it has no measurement id, so it loads no vendor, sets no cookie and makes no request. If that ever changes, this page changes with it, and nothing runs before you agree.
05Inside the product
The ShiftWren application at app.shiftwren.com is a different matter: it sets a strictly necessary session cookie so that you stay logged in and so that each request is scoped to the right business. That cookie is essential — the product cannot work without it, and it is exempt from consent requirements for exactly that reason. It carries no advertising or profiling function.
06How to control it
- Clear what this site stored: clear site data for shiftwren.com in your browser settings, or just close the tab — four of the five values disappear on their own.
- Block storage entirely: every major browser can do this per-site. The pages will still work; the site will simply forget your banner and sound choices.
- Analytics consent: there is nothing to consent to while analytics is off. If we ever switch it on, the choice appears here and nothing loads until you make it.
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: we honour GPC signals as an opt-out of any analytics or sharing.
07Changes
If we add anything that stores data in your browser, we will update this page and its version before that change goes live — not after.
